9100PL SERIES PET INK

Properties
Excellent printability. Good adhesion. Chemical resistance. Low-halogen and Low-naphthalene.
Polyester film & sheet.Especially for polyester nameplates.

INTRODUCTIONS
9100PL SERIES PET is semi-gloss ink designed for polyester film with environmentally friendly ingredients. Printability and post-print processability are excellent. The use of the substances with impact on the environment such as halogen and naphthalene are reduced.

APPLICATIONS
Polyester film and stickers, mainly for printing on the front side.

CHARACTERISTICS
As non-silicone defoamer is used, water-based adhesion can be over-printed after drying. Ink film is flexible and post-processability is excellent.
Excellent printability. Fine patterns can be reproduced.
9100PL SERIES can be printed in high density. Suitable for high-speed printing.
Good resistance to oil, gasoline, alcohol, chemicals and weathering.
Stable in color-matching.
Flat and semi-gloss finish.

HOW TO USE
Dilute the ink with PET THINNER(standard drying). Use PET RETARDER to make the drying slower.
If naphthalene content is accepted, TETRON THINNER(standard drying and slow drying) can be used as well.

DRYING
PET INK is designed to dry slowly in order to avoid clogging. Heat drying is essential. Special attention should be paid to blocking since 9100PL SERIES has semi-gloss finish.
Ink diluted with 10% PET THINNER Standard drying, 270 meshes, 6cm x 15cm solid print.

80°C(176°F) Box dryer (hot wind circulation) | Approx. 5 min.(tack-free)
90°C(194°F) Box dryer (hot wind circulation) | Approx. 30 min.(complete drying)

If several layers are printed, longer drying time is recommended. The application of multi-layer printing such as membrane switch generally needs drying at 90°C for 60-90 min

STENCIL AND WASHING UP
Use photo-stencil. Our VINYL CLEANING THINNER is recommended for washing up.

COLOR RANGE
Standard 15 colors, Transparent 4 colors.

TYPE OF PACKING
1-kg-can.

PRECAUTIONS
1. Hardener JA-960(fast reaction, less-yellowing), JA-950(slow reaction, no- yellowing) or JA-940(for flexibility, non-yellowing) can be used. The physical properties such as adhesion, heat resistance and abrasion resistance are remarkably improved by adding hardener by 10%. The mixture has pot life.
2. Matt version, 9000 SERIES PET INK, is available. Adhesion and blocking resistance of 9000 SERIES are better than those of 9100PL SERIES. 9000 SERIES is recommended for printing on the back side.
3. 9100PL SERIES and 9000 SERIES can be mixed.  However, as the defoamer used in these series are different, crawling may appear.
4. Defoamer used in transparent colors of 9100PL SERIES is non-silicone. Crawling infrequently happened to conventional 9100 SERIES by mixing transparent colors with standard colors is improved.  Leveling is also improved.
5. Please use defoamer JA-201PL that is naphthalene-free.
6. Please refer to MSDS before use.
7. Be sure to do trial print before commercial run to confirm that the product fits the purposes.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
9107P OPAQUE WHITE is diluted with PET THINNER Standard drying and printed on un-treated PET film(125 microns) with T-270 screen.
The printed matter was dried at 90°C(194°F) for 30 minutes and was left at room temperature for one day.

  1. The information given here are obtained from our laboratory testing and no firm guarantee is implied.
  2. The weathering resistance varies depending on the color. Please refer to lightfastness chart. The weathering resistance of matched colors, especially smoke colors or pale colors, are much inferior to that of primary colors.
